Modern life calls for contemporary designs. Ford has always specialized in trucks, huge and heavy-duty models. However, with demand for efficient, compact, and luxurious vehicles on the rise, Ford has responded with the Ford Maverick Tremor, an off-road capable compact truck built for adventure.

The Ford Maverick 2023 takes a whole new look at what a truck can and should be. Durable and capable for off-road adventures but compact enough to navigate (and park) in dense cityscapes, the Ford Maverick Tremor release in 2023 revolutionizes pickup truck design.

The Rise of the Maverick Tremor

In 2022, Ford released the Maverick, a compact four-door truck built for adventure, commuting, and family life in equal measure. The default engine is an efficient hybrid, which can be upgraded to a powerful 2.0 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 250 hp and 277 lb-ft torque. It can haul, tow, and navigate like a beast, and it gets even better.

In 2024, Ford introduced the Maverick Tremor package, a unique upgrade designed to transform the city-slick Maverick into a capable off-road truck that balances luxury and utility in equal measure. The Tremor package requires the turbo-four engine upgrade because it focuses on power and performance. It is available only with the high-end XLT and Lariat trim packages.

Capability Boost

What is new about the Ford Maverick Tremor design? A little bit of everything that equals a significant boost in power. First, the Maverick Tremor has 1-inch lifted suspensions added with re-tuned springs and shock. Then, a steel front skid plate was installed for ultra durability. Off-road maneuvering was enhanced with an advanced all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and a torque-vectoring dual-clutch locking rear differential with Trail Control. Plus, it comes with 30-inch Falken WildPeak all-terrain tires.

The package may include the Ford Co-Pilot 360 collection of advanced driving assistance programs, a spray-in bed liner, and the Tremor Off-Road Plus Appearance package.

Beyond the Tremor

There are two other off-road options for the 2023 Ford Maverick, in addition to the Tremor package. The Maverick can also be prepared with the FX4 or 4K Tow off-road package.

The FX4 features upgraded mono-tube shocks, bushings, spacers, and a locking differential that splits the power train when traction is limited. It has front tow hooks, a trailer hitch receiver, skid plates, hill descent control, and two additional drive modes for "mud & ruts" and "sand," along with all-terrain tires.

The 4K tow package features All-wheel-drive (AWD) with a trailer hitch with a 7-pin connector, trailer brake controller, transmission oil cooler, and a higher capacity radiator. It also features an upgraded cooling fan and drive ratio. This package doubles the Maverick's towing capacity from 2K lbs to 4K lbs.
